3 Face Attempted Murder in Marriottsville Shooting
The three Maryland residents will be in court this month after a 15-year-old was shot in the back of the head.
A Howard County grand jury has indicted three people in the June shooting of a teenager in Marriottsville.
Howard County police said on June 19, Donald George Peoples, 21, of Nottingham, and Laura Christian Karr, 25, of Reisterstown, abducted a 15-year-old male near his home in Reisterstown.
Then, according to police, they picked up Chiquita Sketers, 21, of Randallstown, who brought a long barrel rifle and told the victim that he was going to die.
Peoples, Karr and Sketers drove the victim to a field off of Old Frederick Road in Marriottsville, according to police, and at gunpoint, forced him out of the car. Police say that as the victim walked away from the car, Peoples shot him in the back of the head.
A resident found the teenager lying in a field. The victim was taken to University of Maryland Shock Trauma and released on July 11.
A Baltimore County police officer killed one man during the arrest of Karr and Peoples. Police said the victim, 48-year-old Ronald Cox, struck a police officer with a sword in Karr's home in Reisterstown.
The officer fired, killing Cox, according to police.
Sketers faces attempted first-degree murder; conspiracy to commit first-degree murder, kidnapping, first-degree assault, and two counts of the use of a firearm in the commission of a felony. She is scheduled to appear in court for a hearing on Aug. 15.
Peoples and Karr face the same charges. In addition, they each face one charge of armed robbery. Peoples has a hearing scheduled August 9; Karr has a hearing scheduled Aug. 8.
