By the Numbers: How Carroll County Voted in the 2012 Election
In spite of being in a blue state, Carroll County continues to be a Republican voting county.
Carroll County showed up at the polls Tuesday and stayed true to its history of voting heavily for Republican candidates.
Out of 110,394 registered voters in Carroll County, approximately 82,687 voters (or just under 75 percent of registered voters) cast ballots in the 2012 general election Tuesday. Here is how Carroll County voted:

A look back to the 2008 presidential election
In the 2008 presidential election, Carroll County had 105,449 registered voters with 85,051 or 80.66 percent turning out to cast ballots. In that election, the Obama/Biden ticket got 28,060 Carroll County votes (33.11 percent) and McCain/Palin took 54,503 Carroll County votes (64.31 percent).
