Carrolltowne Elementary School Presents Honk! Jr.

The Carrolltowne Players will take the stage in a new production this March.

The Carrolltowne Players are showing off their acting skills in their spring play, which debuts in early March.

Tickets are now on sale for the production sposored by Carrolltowne Elementary School.

"HONK! Jr. is a wonderful reminder of all the things we hope our children will learn," said Kate Bernstein, the group's publicist. "The message is to accept others for who they are, not what they look like, and to remember that being different is okay."

Written by George Stiles and Anthony Drewe, HONK! Jr. is the story of Ugly, whose odd and "gawky" looks instantly incite prejudice from his family and neighbors.

Separated from the farm and pursued by a hungry cat, Ugly must find his way home. Along his journey, he not only discovers his true beauty, but also finds love and acceptance in all its forms, according to the synopsis of the play.

Honk, Jr. will take place Friday, March 2, at 7 p.m., Saturday, March 3 at 2 p.m. and 7 p.m.; and Sunday, March 4, at 2 p.m. Tickets are $6 and can be purchased through the Carrolltowne Players website here or by calling 443-379-HONK.
