Crossfire, Rocks Carroll County One Gig at a Time (With Video)
The band of young teens is taking the area by storm, producing their first album this year.
These aren’t your average rockstars. These young teens are rocking Carroll County one battle at a time, sharing what they love to do and working their way into fame.
“This is where my passion’s at. This is what I really like to do so I’m really hoping I can carry it into what I want to do when I’m older,” said Tay Jacobe, 14, lead singer of Crossfire.
“There’s no doubt in my mind that I’m going to be a musician when I get older," said lead guitarist Tyler Atwell, 15. "I’ve considered back up plans but I don’t think I’m going to follow through with them because my opinion is if you’re not doing something you love for the rest of your life and working, why do it?”
Rehearsing in Tyler’s family’s garage, these five Century High School students, Tyler, Tay, Tyler, Josh and Patrick are using their skills to not only write and produce their first original album this year, but also give back to the community as well.
In the next month they are performing at a Valentine’s Day gala for Tanner’s Touch, a foundation raising money for a three-year-old boy who was diagnosed with cancer, and a battle of the bands for Live, Hope Laugh to raise money for the Alexis Ross organization for children and teens with chronic illnesses.
And in the midst of performing, rehearsing and doing homework, there’s always the reminder that they’re teenagers.
"When promoting our first album I was going to tattoo the album cover on my forehead," said bassist Tyler Enslow, 14.
