'Empty Bowl' Event to Offer Lunch, Silent Auction
- Saturday, 11:30 a.m. to 1:00 p.m., Century High School: The National Art Honor Societies at Century and South Carroll High Schools are joining forces to hold an "Empty Bowls" event. For a $10 donation, you will receive a simple lunch and a handcrafted bowl representing the empty bowls within our community. There will be a silent auction featuring donated items from community businesses, as well as artwork to help raise money for the cause. This event will benefit Carroll County Food Sunday.
Price: $10 donation. Tickets are available at the door.
Last Call for Beauty and the Beast
- Friday, 7 p.m.; Saturday, 7 p.m.; Sunday, 2 p.m., 7 p.m. Liberty High School: The Upstagers will present Disney’s Beauty and the Beast this weekend. The talented cast members; the technical team running lights, sound, staging, and curtains; the two classes of Technical Theater students who designed costumes and lighting and designed and built the incredible sets; the student and adult volunteers helping with props, make-up, and costuming; and the 200 plus member troupe are excited to bring this timeless classic to Carroll County.
Price: $8 in advance, $10 students/seniors at the door, $12 adults at the door.

No More Dead Dogs at Oklahoma Road
- Friday, May 4, and Saturday, May 5, 7 p.m., Oklahoma Road Middle School: The drama club is currently hard at work perfecting its spring production of the school play No More Dead Dogs, based on the book by Gordon Korman. It is a "play within a play" and a fun story for anyone who has wished for a different ending to the classic dog stories like "Old Yeller" where the dog "always dies in the end.” Oklahoma Road's own Kathleen Ferguson (8th Grade ELA) wrote the screenplay and is also directing.
