Eldersburg and Sykesville Today: March 19

1. Carroll County Commissioner Meeting

The Carroll County Board of Commissioners holds their open session meeting this afternoon at 1:30 p.m. in room 311 of the County Office Building. The agenda includes: 

  • Public Comment   
  • FY 13 Recommended Budget

2. Main Street Association Meeting

The Main Street Association will hold a board meeting tonight at 7 p.m. in the Town House. Find more information here

3. The Living Roots of Music

The Eldersburg Library is holding an event featuring Lauren Pelon as she discusses the story of music and instruments throughout history at 7 p.m. tonight. The program will include a live performance by Pelon on instruments like the archlute, guitar, krummhorn, rackett and more. The program is open to ages 10 through adult.

4. Softball Scrimmage

The Century High School girls varsity softball team is hosting Mount Hebron High School in a scrimmage today at 4:30 p.m. 

5. Today's Forecast

The National Weather Service calls for a 40 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms after noon, changing to a 20 percent chance of showers with a low of around 52 degrees this evening.
