Too bad we don't look anything like a high earning town, but we have Carroll County to thank for that. They've largely ignored our Freedom comprehensive plan, they've consistently frozen or more recently eliminated projects that would ease our congestion. They've rolled over or eliminated development guidelines that would make the community more sustainable. In a community of 30,000, we have, but 2 active recreational parks (Piney Run & Hodges), no indoor athletic facilities, no central gathering place, no theatres, no sidewalks, no public bike paths and horrible sidewalkless roads. We're just the cash cow...We pay th highest property & income taxes and have little to show for it. In fact, the one decent thing bouying our quality of life, the schools, is even likely to get cut soon.

^^I totally agree...there are so many places to make this town beautiful, but there is no cohesiveness and no plan to make it better. Very sad^^

Wow! Perfectly said. We have lived here for over 20 years and our area has always been treated this way by the county government.

Who voted the county government in? Do you want to turn things around? Get thogether with other like minded town citizens and everyone vote against ALL of the incumbents. Forget about party lines. Throw them all out!! That will make a difference. Of course, that will never happen because people have to vote for their favorite party.
