Osama Bin Laden Killed by U.S. Forces; What Are Your Thoughts?

The mastermind behind the 9/11 attacks on the World Trade Center in New York and the Pentagon near Washington, D.C., was killed in Pakistan.

Osama bin Laden has been killed, according to reports on the major U.S. networks.

"I can report to the American people and the world that the United States has conducted an operation that has killed Osama bin Laden," President Obama said in an address to the nation Sunday night.

Bin Laden, the mastermind behind the 9/11 attacks on the World Trade Center in New York and the Pentagon near Washington, D.C., was said to have been killed while in a remote region of Pakistan, and his body is reported to be in U.S. hands, according to CBS News.

CNN quoted a senior U.S. official as saying that U.S. forces killed bin Laden in a mansion outside Islamabad.

Some national security experts are calling this a major turning point in the war on terror. What are your thoughts on this development in eliminating the man called the spiritual head of al-Qaida?

After 10 years of negotiating, just how large was the bribe that the U.S. taxpayer finally had to pay to the Pakistani government for the information relating to the whereabouts of bin Laden?

There is talk of raising the U.S. flag again, in silent tribute and solidarity, everywhere. Remember the days after 9/11? The one good thing to emerge from all that pain was a nation united in a grief that was so much larger than any partisan conflict. We didn't ask if you were democrat, republican, or independent before we took your hand at church services and candle light vigils. We didn't put position before the stark truth. We bent together. This man, in his evil vision, united a people. Great good can come from great sadness. Can we rise together?

Personally, I believe that he was killed during the initial attacks on Bora Bora. We've only needed time to make an announcement to soften the blow to the radicals in the East. Regardless - good job.
