Hi guys! I’m a sweet, gentle, five- to six-year-old Lab/Shepherd mix who weighs about 60 pounds. I was found wandering aimlessly through the streets in a rural Pennsylvania town, exhausted and dehydrated from my journey. Luckily, I landed at the home of a Good Samaritan who took me in and loved and cared for me. They named me after the song "Amazing Grace" because I was lost, but now I’m found. They nursed me back to health, and now I’m ready to find my new home.

I am a devoted “people dog”; I like to follow my people around, and am very eager to please. I’m great with children, and love snuggling up with my foster family’s seven-year-old granddaughter at night to make sure she is safe and sound. She takes me on walks and plays with me, and in return, I’m her gentle, loyal companion. I just want to have a family of my own to belong to and care for. 

I’m a laid-back dog, and well adjusted. I’ll fit right into your home; I’m potty-trained, crate-trained, walk well on a leash, and love to go on car rides. My favorite things to do at my foster home are to lounge anywhere I can find some sun, chew on a bone, and chase the occasional frog or squirrel around the yard. 

Gracie would do best as an only dog because she’s temperamental around dogs she doesn’t know, and she really deserves some TLC all to herself. Her name is a testament to her character. She was abandoned and not cared for, but still loves people and shows true canine grace.

Gracie has a common hormonal imbalance that occurs in some middle-aged dogs and will require daily medication to keep her system balanced. She is a healthy, active pup in every other way, and more than ready and able to bring love and companionship to your family.

Please consider opening your heart and home to Gracie. She is an affectionate, laid-back dog, and will make someone a great companion. She needs to be part of a family and has been patiently waiting her turn.
