"You can't build a reputation on what you are going to do." Henry Ford
It is that attitude expressed in Driven: A Photobiography by Henry Ford, by Don Mitchell, that the reader will enjoy, young and old. The colorful narrative is combined with personal photographs and quotes from the man whose dream was to build "a motor car for the great multitude" so inexpensive that "no man making a good salary will be unable to own one."
I'm happy to say that my great grandfather a farmer in Tanytown, Maryland owned one of those original Model Ts. My 79-year-old mother recalls the old Model T parked out in the wagon shed next to the barn. While she didn't ever get to ride in the Model T she has fond memories of the family's original car.
Driven is a complimentary children's book to American Icon: Alan Mulally and the Fight to Save Ford Motor Company by Bryce Hoffman.
