The "Lion's Pride" Marching Band won their 20th Chapter (Greater MD) Championship in school history at Chapter V Championships at South Hagerstown High School on Saturday, October 19, 2013. The band won with a score of 91.80, taking home specialty awards for best music, best visual, best percussion and best colorguard. The band consists of 53 musicians and 16 colorguard, and is under direction of Brandi Jason, Liberty's longest tenured Instrumental Music Director, as well as 25-year veteran Assistant Band Director, David Fisher. Senior band staff includes: Tom Vail (marching), Allen Kessell (battery), Amy DeLoriea (front ensemble), Sara McDougall and Jessica Elisberg (color guard), with a design team of Brian Thompson (wind book), Paul Cullen (percussion book) and Bobby Jones (drill). The band is lead by sophomore drum major, Kaylin O'Hern, and section leaders Jocelyn Abrahamzon, Libby Beller, Cailtyn McCaulley, Kari Martiniano, Alex Ottone, Dylan Vasbinder, Carlie Waganer, Brent Wagner and Alex Wikner. The Lion's will perform excerpts from their 2013 show, The Bird, for the Liberty High School Homecoming Parade and Homecoming Game this Friday, October 26. The band will compete on Tournament of Bands Atlantic Coast Championships at Hershey, PA on Sunday, October 27.
