Eldersburg Patch Week In Review

In case you missed it, notable headlines from Nov. 21 through Nov. 27.

Thanksgiving week brought turkey, the first sightings of Santa and a couple of unique crime reports.

Last Sunday, an in the Carroll County Detention Center struck a corrections officer, sending him to University of Maryland Shock Trauma. In different news, late Tuesday night a Sykesville man was arrested for pointing a at a Maryland State Police helicopter.

Also on Sunday we remembered an Eldersburg native , 36, who passed away on Nov. 4. He was a popular athlete at Liberty High School and was considered one of the best poker players in the region and will be greatly missed.

Last weekend marked the arrival of in the area as he was flown in by helicopter at the Carroll County Agricultural center.

In feature stories this week, we looked at a local who earned her first banner for her school's gym after 34 years. We also profiled a local storeowner who despite a learning disability has opened , her new store across from Kmart.
