Liberty High Drama Wins Big at Cappies

The drama program walked away with more than a dozen awards.

Calling the Liberty High School drama program  “award-winning” is somewhat of an understatement. 

Students in the program walked away from the Critics and Awards Program (Cappies) with 14 awards for the Baltimore Area High School Region of the Academy Awards for theater.

  • Best Female Actress in a Musical: Emily Hoffen
  • Best Ensemble in a Musical: Apes
  • Best Female Dancer: Jackie Meissner
  • Best Male Dancer: Ryan Love
  • Best Sets: Bridget Lindsay and LHS Tech 1 Theatre Class
  • Best Costumes:  Kate Twilley, Costume Team
  • Best Special Fx:  Jeremy Mayo and Tyler Spaid
  • Best Marketing and Publicity:  Alex Dangel and Claire Griffin
  • Best Lighting:  Ryan Love and Meredith Faid
  • Best Hair and Make-Up:  Maddie Stanley
  • Best Stage Crew:  Kasey Nolan and LHS Stage Crew
  • Best Sound:  Alex Ottone, Conor Powers, Drew Norfolk
  • Best Junior Critic:  Ashleigh Kirker

The Cappies program trains students as critics; they write reviews -  which are published in local and national media outlets – and ultimately vote on the Cappies winners.
