Strong winds whipping through Carroll County Wednesday evening have caused power outages, according to the BG&E website.

About 480 utility customers were without power in Carroll County, while small outages were listed in Anne Arundel, Howard, Harford and Baltimore counties.

The National Weather Service issued a hazardous weather outlook for parts of the state as a cold front pushes through.

The alert is for the Maryland portion of Chesapeake Bay, as well as Baltimore, Harford, Prince George’s and Anne Arundel counties.

As a cold front swoops through the region late Wednesday, thunderstorms are possible ahead of the front that may produce damaging wind gusts. Isolated tornadoes are possible.

A wind advisory issued earlier in the day remains in effect through Thursday morning with gusts in excess of 45 mph.

I was one of those 480 people...lucky me. I realize BGE can't control the weather and outages will happen. The power was back on in less than an hour. What REALLY burns my biscuits (and it happened last night 4 times in a row), is when the power blinks off, then on in a split second, just long enough to screw up clocks and more. This has been known to happen during the best of weather, also. Grrrrrr.
