Rt. 32 Resurfacing Could Cause Delays

More than 17,000 drivers travel this section of MD 32 each day, according to the SHA.

Construction will begin on MD 32 (Sykesville Road) between Old Washington Road and Short Lane Road in Westminster on Sunday, July 21.

The Maryland State Highway Administration (SHA) will resurface (grind and overlay) and restripe MD 32. SHA resurfaced this section in 1999 and the new treatment will extend the overall service life of the roadway, according to a news release.

Crews will work at night Sunday through Thursday between 9 p.m. and 5 a.m., and traffic will be directed using a flagging operation.  Cones, barrels and temporary traffic signs will also guide motorists through the work zone. More than 17,000 drivers travel this section of MD 32 each day.  All work should be complete by late summer, according to the SHA.
