SNOW ALERT: Winter Weather Timeline for Carroll County

A winter weather advisory is in effect from Sunday night to Monday afternoon.

At the end of the rainbow on St. Patrick's Day, there may be a pot of snow.

The National Weather Service has issued a winter weather advisory for Baltimore, Carroll, Cecil, Frederick, Harford and Howard counties plus Baltimore City, effective from 7 p.m. Sunday to 2 p.m. Monday.

The advisory calls for 2 to 4 inches of snow, which will start as a rain-snow mix early Sunday evening and change to all snow by late Sunday night.

The heaviest snow will be midnight to Monday morning, the National Weather Service reported, noting that roads will be slippery.

A winter weather advisory means periods of snow will cause travel difficulties, and people should be prepared for snow-covered roads and limited visibilities.
