Weekend Weather: Spring Stays at Bay in Eldersburg

Here's the weekend forecast, courtesy of the National Weather Service.

Spring 2013 begins next week, on March 20, but temperatures Friday will have that not-quite-winter, not-quite-spring feel, according to the National Weather Service

Friday, expect cloudy skies and temperatures reaching the mid-50s. There’s a 40 percent chance of rain or snow late Friday night, with temperatures in the mid-30s.

Saturday will bring rain, snow and sleet; there’s an 80 percent chance of precipitation during the day and we could see up to a half inch. Temperatures will reach the low-40s during the day.

There’s a 60 percent chance that the rain will continue into Saturday night, when temperatures drop to the low-30s.

No rain is in the forecast during the day Sunday, just partly sunny skies with highs in the low-40s, dropping to the mid-30s at night. There is, however, a 30 percent chance of rain and snow before 2 a.m.

Monday, two days before the first day of spring, there is 50 percent a chance of rain and snow in the morning, turning to rain as temperatures rise to the low-40s.
