  • Description:  Free Zumba class for kids.

Margot Leverett and the Klezmer Mountain Boys

  • Where:  Carroll Arts Center, 91 W Main St, Westminster
  • When:  Saturday, Jan. 5, 8 p.m.
  • Description:  Appalachian and southern fiddle tunes by Bill Monroe meet klezmer melodies from pre-war Russia and Eastern Europe, some newly discovered.
  • Cost: $19

 

New Windsor VFD Breakfast

  • Where:  New Windsor Fire Dept. Social Hall, 101 High St., New Windsor
  • When:  Sunday, Jan. 6, 7 a.m. – 12 p.m.
  • Description:  Country breakfast served first Sunday of every month.
  • Cost:  Free

 

First Friday

  • Where: Serpent Ridge Vineyard, 2962 Nicodemus Rd, Westminster
  • When:  Friday, Jan. 4, 5:30-8:30 p.m.
  • Description:  Serpent Ridge Vineyard hosts a special meal.  Soup, fresh bread and wine.
  • Cost: $5

 

Civil War Train Exhibit

  • Where: Discovery Station Museum, 101 W. Washington St., Hagerstown
  • When:  Jan. 3 – Dec. 31, Tue.-Sat., 10 a.m. – 4p.m., Sunday, 2-5p.m.
  • Description:  Visitors can learn about the significance of the railroad during the Civil War.
  • Cost: $7

  • Description:  The Baltimore Improv Group performs a New Year’s comedy.
