During that time, much of his subject matter for paintings and drawings were taken from the Sykesville area. This exhibition of 25 items is mostly from that time period. Included are: pencil drawings, original prints, watercolors and oil paintings.

Many may remember Wiley as the proprietor of two businesses on Main Street, Craftsman Art Company from 1988 to 2005, and Purkey’s Toy Trains from 2000 to 2010.

Also during this time he was one of the founding members of the Sykesville Gate House Museum of History, serving as the first Museum Director.

In 2012, Wiley returned to painting, but his subject matter is no longer focused on the Sykesville area. This exhibition now showing at the Sykesville Gate House Museum of History is his first solo exhibition since 1993. Most of the items in the show are from his private collection and will most likely not be seen together again.
