'A La Mode' Plans to Bring Chic to Sykesville Main Street

Main Street Sykesville to get a new retail addition.

Custom jewelry, handbags, other accessories and baby items will grace the shelves of the newest shop on Main Street Sykesville by the end of June.

A La Mode owners Chris and Amie McCaslin always wanted to own their own business and found Main Street the perfect opportunity.

“We adore Main Street and were especially attracted to the charm and character of the historic buildings, which is why we ultimately chose that location,” said Amie McCaslin.

“We have always wanted to own our own business, and with Chris's finance background (as a director of business development for Thyssen Krupp Elevator) and my retail background, we felt this was the perfect time to follow our dreams,” she said.

Products the couple plans to carry in the store include lines such as Viva Beads, Yellowbox flip flops, Big Buddha handbags, Chocolate handbags, Heartstrings (a line of personal accessories and sterling silver jewelry that can be monogrammed), Crosswinds jewelry and The Bath Confectionary line of body scrubs and soaps (made in Maryland).

“We have plans to expand our product lines and will be striving to always have something new and exciting to bring to the area,” said McCaslin. “I started making jewelry just a few years ago, which will also be carried in the store, and we will offer custom services for anyone trying to find the perfect accessories to complete any outfit.”

This newest addition to Main Street is located at 7546 Main Street in Sykesville. A grand opening will be held in July.
