County Committee to Review 'Eldersburg Commons' Plan at Community Meeting

Eldersburg Commons is the proposed name for the shopping center that is expected to replace Carrolltown Center.

The Carroll County Technical Review Committee will conduct a community meeting at the Carroll County Office Building on Wednesday to review the concept plan for the proposed Elderburg Commons shopping center.

Black Oak Associates, the developer of the Carrolltown Center site, announced in April plans to demolish the 35-year-old shopping center and to construct a marketplace that will house more than 20 merchants, including a Walmart Supercenter.

On a website detailing the proposed project, named Eldersburg Commons, more than 100 comments have been posted with ideas for shops and feedback for the developers.
