It's Not Too Late: Carroll Biz Challenge Deadline Tuesday

The winner will walk away with a $5,000 check, in addition to other resources to help get a start up off the ground.

It's not too late to enter your business start up idea in the second annual Carroll Biz Challenge. The deadline for entries is Oct. 15.

The Carroll Biz Challenge is a business startup contest for entrepreneurs in Carroll County. In addition to networking and business plan development, applicants will be competing to win a $5,000 prize.

Supported by the Carroll County Chamber of Commerce, the Carroll Biz Challenge helps encourage the entrepreneurial spirit in Carroll County's thriving small business community.

Last year's inaugural event resulted in 22 local small business ideas being pitched, with Sean Schmidt of Holistic Home Energy Services taking the $5,000 prize in the end.

Interested in pitching your idea? Applications are being accepted through Oct. 15.

After Oct. 15, the advisory board will narrow the pool of applicants to five finalists who will pitch at the live contest on Nov. 22. During the live contest, each finalist has five minutes to pitch his or her business, followed by 10 minutes of Q & A with the contest judges.
