JAMS Music Finds 'Sparkly, Fresh' New Space

A notable Eldersburg music store is moving, but don't panic.

in Eldersburg has found the perfect match: bigger space and lower rent at a location down the road.

The area music store opens its doors at its new location Wednesday, giving its students and customers a fresh place with an “easier layout,” the owner says.

“Instead of two storefronts side-by-side like the old place, it now is more like one big room, with studios off on the sides,” said owner Brian Baernstein.

“We are very much looking forward to invigorating our business with a sparkly, fresh new location. There's something about new paint and carpet that makes your business feel like a million bucks.”

In addition to the instruments and accessories, JAMS will also be getting into consignment merchandise -- buying and selling used instruments and gear.

Overall, the new place is more aesthetically pleasing, according to Baernstein.

The new space “is going to have a more modern feel than the retro-like deco of the old place,” he said.

But the culture of the store won't change.

“The location is close by -- only about a mile from the old location,” said Baernstein. “Also remaining will be our wonderful teachers and staff that everyone loves.”
