Local Family to Bring "Hoppy-ness" to Eldersburg

An Eldersburg mother of three is opening Hoppers KidZone, a moon bouncing and party business to the new Liberty Exchange business park.

With the closing of earlier this year and the colder weather making outdoor parties uncomfortable until spring, a local Eldersburg mother of three is hoping that her new business will be a popular spot for kids this fall.

"We have been to numerous parties over the years in which we are always driving to Owings Mills, Columbia and Westminster," said Kristi Hyde, owner of Hoopers KidZone, a new birthday party and fun bounce facility for young children and their parents. "I saw a need, but more than that I wanted to be in a position to be part of the community."

Hoppers KidZone is located at 5965 Exchange Drive, Suite K in the new in Eldersburg off of Route 26. Liberty Exchange, located where Freedom Golf Center used to stand, is managed by St. John Properties and signed its first tenant Orthopaedic Associates of Central Maryland in February.

The complex includes a 16,000 square foot retail project, a 25,000 square foot office building and a 61,000 square foot research and development/flex space project on 40 acres of land.

The new "kid-friendly" business will offer birthday party packages ranging from "Bouncing Fun With Friends" to the "Extreme Party" which includes Pizza, drinks, goody bags and balloons.

"We're going to offer hassle free parties in which parents can enjoy themselves and play with their kids. It is fun for everyone," said Hyde.

The business will offer a range of moon bounces including obstacle courses, slides, a gladiator coliseum, a basketball court arena and more.

Hoppers KidZone will also offer "Open Bounce" on weekday mornings and scheduled evenings in which parents and kids can drop-in to experience the multiple colorful moon bounce rooms.

"The most exciting thing for me is the fundraising events," said Hyde. "We are working with local PTAs, preschools, churches and sporting associations to schedule events so that the community can benefit from kids playing."

Hoppers KidZone is hoping to hold their grand opening on November 12 and 13 pending final inspections.

"Starting this  business has been a blast," said Hyde. "It is incredible seeing all of the planning come together."
