NeighborCare Closes 5 Pharmacies in Maryland

Prescriptions were transferred to another pharmacy.

Six NeighborCare pharmacies shuttered over the weekend, the company recently reported, including five in the region. Prescriptions were transferred to Walgreens.

The following locations were reportedly closed on Friday:

One pharmacy also closed in Ohio, the state where NeighborCare's parent company—Omnicare—is headquartered.

Omnicare closed the pharmacies in a strategic move so it could focus on serving institutions like skilled nursing and assisted living facilities, according to The Baltimore Sun.
