On Mane Street Hair Salon Donates Money to Breast Cancer

The local salon raised money during the annual Sykesville Fall Festival Saturday.

Many local businesses joined forces Saturday to show support for breast cancer, using the Sykesville Fall Festival and the crowds it brought to Main Street to collect donations for the cause.

"During the festival we collected $360 and we still have the rest of the month to go," said Pam Peck High, owner of .

The local salon collected money at the festival to donate to breast cancer awareness by offering pink hair extensions to customers passing by. They will continue raising money through the month of October.

On Mane Street Hair Studio continues the charitable spirit throughout the year, serving as a drop off location for cell phones for soldiers, taking part in Toys for Tots, and holding a holiday food drive in addition to participating in the Locks of Love program.

The salon, located on Main Street Sykesville and in business for six years, specializes in hair extensions and other types of hair replacement.
