South Carroll Business Association Awards Local Graduates

Graduates from three local high schools were awarded with scholarships.

The South Carroll Business Association awarded scholarships to three graduates from Liberty, South Carroll and Century high schools.

The SCBA, a network of local business owners and managers coming together for more than 30 years awarded the scholarships using money raised through the SCBA’s Business Expo, golf tournaments, bull roast and other functions through the years.

The organization created an Educational Scholarship Fund, giving $750, one time grants for local students to start their college education.

Each of the candidates was chosen by his or her own high school. The selection criterion was that the student selected be a highly motivated and successful high school senior that had the desire to continue his or her education by obtaining a business degree from an accredited college or university.

The recipients for the 2011 SCBA Educational Scholarship Award were Kenneth Chase Anderson from Liberty High School, Spencer Haines from Century High School, and Karen Suckling from South Carroll High School.
