Comment: ‘These commissioners deserve to be recalled!’

Carroll County readers get riled up.

Readers took their opinions to Carroll County Patch sites this week, flocking most to stories about an extraordinarily generous 11-year-old, the lack of community theater space in Eldersburg, the county’s new director of planning, and an upcoming Sykesville Fire Department construction.

11-YEAR-OLD BRINGS SANTA, TOYS TO THOSE IN NEED "Sarah & Joe, that's some kid you've got there!!! I can only imagine how proud you must be. Toby, your compassion is extraordinary at such a young age. You've made so many children happy!" – Cindy Tetzloff

LACK OF COMMUNITY THEATER SPACE IN ELDERSBURG? "We are in desperate need! If space were available, we could [have] so many more community outreach events, entertain audiences right here in Carroll County, draw people from neighboring counties, and build a closer community." – Michele Field

NEW CARROLL COUNTY PLANNING DIRECTOR: "So they found the one qualified Planner who will put aside professional integrity and implement their short-sighted ‘planning’ ideas. I hope you know what you're in for, MR. Hager!" - WestMonster

COUNTY COMMISSIONERS HIRE LOBBYIST: "Now this takes the cake! Those who campaigned for less government spending?? I want to know how spending our tax dollars on lobbyists will make us better in Carroll County? Isn't that what we elected our State Delegation for? Besides, how did we get stuck with two of them doing one job, or is it another blatant attempt to take care of their friends again? Oh, and hiring a convicted felon to do a job for you has to give you a warm fuzzy feeling! I guess the $$'s they spend on the "phony forum" wasn't enough! These commissioners deserve to be recalled!" – John Lopez

$4.5 MILLION LOAN APPROVED FOR SYKESVILLE FIRE DEPARTMENT: "As a Carroll taxpayer, I completely support this loan. The situation is ideal. To keep our taxes low, we must rely on these VOLUNTEER fire companies to help with our safety. This loan will be repaid to the county. The new hall allows the fire company to raise money allowing it to continue it's FREE service to Carroll County's residents." – Carroll Rover
