Davies Home is Eldersburg Patch's Deck the House Contest Winner

We'll learn Friday if the Eldersburg winner was named one of the 24 nationwide finalists, bringing Carroll County Public Schools one step closer to winning $100,000.

Julie Virdin Davies has been named the South Whitehall winner in Patch’s national Deck the House Contest.

The Davies family home is one of 397 winners named from across the nation. The family's winning entry was forwarded to a national Patch judge, who will select 24 finalists today.

Each of the 24 finalists will receive $500 -- to help pay their electric bill!

Then, from Friday through Jan. 8, readers can vote for the Best Decked House in all of Patch, which includes 22 states and the District of Columbia. The grand prize winner’s school district will receive a $100,000 check from Patch.
