Earthquake Shakes Maryland

A 5.8 magnitude earthquake hit Maryland Tuesday afternoon, according to The National Weather Service.

A 5.8 magnitude earthquake shook much of the Mid-Atlantic region Tuesday afternoon around 1:51 p.m., according to The National Weather Service.

The epicenter was located approximately 34 miles northwest of Richmond, VA, or 87 miles southwest of Washington, D.C., said the NWS.
