1. Board of Commissioners Meeting

The Carroll County Board of Commissioners is holding two open session meetings today.

  • - Agenda includes: public comment, public hearing and consideration of authorizing resolution for issuance and sale of economic development revenue bonds for Fairhaven, Inc. and Copper Ridge, Inc., report and recommendations of the agricultural land preservation task force, review and approval of the federal grant for Carroll County Adult Drug Court, discussion of handicapped accessibilty requirements for public pools and proposal to discuss sponsoring Federal Coordination Training.
  • - The Carroll County Board of Commissioners is holding an open session meeting in room 311 of the County Office Building. The agenda includes: loan request from Sykesville Freedom District Fire Department, Inc., advanced tactical rescue vehicle request, residential sprinkler briefing and public comment.

3. Town of Sykesville Searching For Gate House Curator

The Town of Sykesville is seeking to fill the position of Curator for the Gate House Museum of History. The 12 hour per week position is responsible for overseeing museum accessions, and guiding public tours. The Town "desires an independent person with strong organizational skills, training in Microsoft office and access, a degree in public history or related field preferred, or work equivalent." Hourly rate is $9 to $10 per hour.
