The Board of County Commissioners will hold an open session meeting today at 1:30 p.m., covering the following agenda items: 

  • Public Comment
  • Presentation of the Emergency Shelter Grant by Jolene Sullivan, Department of Citizen Services
  • Bid Approval, Traffic & Transportation by Tom Rio, Engineering Services Department and Richard Shelton, Bureau of Purchasing
  • Revised Flood Insurance Rate Maps by Tom Devilbiss, Department of Land Use, Planning & Development
  • Closed Session, Land Acquisition

3.  Sweet Simplici-Tea Closed For Two Weeks

will be closed January 1 through Friday, Jan. 13. The tea room will re-open Jan. 14 for business as usual from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. "We are taking reservation by phone at (410) 549-7676. Messages will be checked every other day and calls returned as needed!! Please leave a message!!"

4. Donate Your Mittens

This holiday season marks the 28th year the Carroll County Public Library has provided holiday help to neighbors in need. The library system receives donated gloves, mittens, scarves, and hats, for both adults and children, through their mitten trees set up at all six branches. Donations will be accepted at all CCPL branches until Friday, Jan. 6. 

5. Today's Forecast

The National Weather Service calls for mostly cloudy skies with a high near 29 degrees this afternoon, changing to partly cloudy skies with a low of around 15 degrees this evening.
