All hope seems lost when terminally ill Jack lies on his deathbed, his wife Lizzie is killed in a tragic car crash, and their children must be sent about the country to live with various family members. It seems to be the end of the road, but Jack inexplicably begins to recover, and he is determined to bring together the family once more to recover from Lizzie’s death at Lizzie’s childhood home on the beach of South Carolina. Is one summer really enough to heal the whole family so they can learn to love again?
