Five Things You Need to Know Today: June 14

Read these five things to stay on top of local news and get you prepared for the day.

1. The Carroll County District of the Baltimore Area Council of the Boy Scouts of America and the Carroll County Board of Commissioners are joining to host a today. A demonstration on flag etiquette and a flag retirement ceremony will be presented by the Boy Scouts. The farm museum hours will be extended from 6 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. 

2. The Carroll County Commissioners are holding an open session today at 10 a.m. with topics on the agenda to include a review & approval of the Homeless Women Shelter Grant, a presentation from the Department of Citizen Services and the write-off of uncollectible accounts by the Department of the Comptroller. 

3. The Relay for Life will hold its final meeting tonight before the relay on Friday. The logistical meeting will start at 7 p.m. at the stadium. At least one member of each relay team needs to attend.

4.  is holding campus tours for potential students Tuesdays throughout the summer. Tours leave at 6 p.m. and last 30-45 minutes. 

5. The National Weather Service calls for isolated showers after noon today with partly sunny skies and a high near 75 degrees.
