Five Things You Need to Know Today: June 7

Read these five things to stay on top of local news and get you prepared for the day.

1. The is being held at the Carnival grounds next to the fire station. The Carnival opens nightly at 5:30 p.m. and rides start at 6 p.m. The events will include live entertainment each night, ride specials, a silent auction and a big money drawing.

2. Karen Greenstein is hosting a class on how to create a nurturing and supportive home or office environment using at the tonight starting at 7 p.m. 

3. The Salvation Army, in conjuction with The Maryland Food Bank, will once again be to anyone in need. Must be able to verfiy you are a Carroll County resident. Come to the Salvation Army in Westminster between 11 a.m. and 2 p.m.

4. The Carroll County Board of Commissioners is holding an open session meeting at 10 a.m. Topics include the Watershed Implementation Plan, approval of memorandum of understanding with the Inter-county Broadband Network and a follow-up with the Airport Runway Extension project. 

5. It's going to be mostly sunny with a high of 88 degrees today, according to The National Weather Service.
