Five Things You Need to Know Today: May 24

Read these five things to stay on top of local news and get you prepared for the day.

1. A Public Hearing will be held tonight at 7 p.m. for the proposed picketing ordinance Chapter 197 intended to regulate picketing in Carroll County. The public is encouraged to attend. The meeting will be held in Room 003 of the Carroll County Office Building.

2. Eat at Grilled Cheese & Co. today and part of the proceed's will fund TACTICC, a local non-profit dedicated to the arts. 

3. The will host author David Lehman tonight at 7 p.m. to discuss his book "A Fine Romance: Jewish Songwriters, American Songs." Refreshments and a book signing by Lehman will follow the discussion.

4. There's a 60 percent chance of thunderstorms after 2 p.m. with a high of 83 degrees today, according to The National Weather Service

5. The Sykesville Historic District Commission Meeting will be held tonight at the Town House on Main Street at 7 p.m.
