1. The Sykesville American Legion Post 233 is hosting a Memorial Day Program featuring a Civil War Reenactment. The ceremony includes several rounds fired from a Civil War cannon between 11 a.m. and 12 p.m.
2. The 144th Annual Westminster Memorial Day Parade marches down Pennsylvania Avenue to Main Street and up Main Street to Church Street and into the cemetery, where a Memorial Day Program will commence. The parade starts at 10 a.m.
3. The hosts its annual Fireman's Carnival featuring live music, the Fireman's Parade, silent auction, food, rides, games and more starting at 6 p.m.

4. The 2011 Covenant of Grace Mission Possible Memorial Day 5K & 1 Mile Fun Run takes place today starting at 8:30 a.m. in Reisterstown. The Eldersburg Rogue Runners will be there.
5. It's going to be a hot day for the pools today. The National Weather Service forecast calls for a mostly sunny day with a high of 92 degrees.
