(Updated 12:48 p.m.) Flash Flood Emergency in Effect for Carroll County

The National Weather Service has issued a flash flood warning in effect through this evening.

A flash flood emergency is in effect for Eldersburg through 2:30 p.m. this afternoon, as issued by The National Weather Service. As remnants of tropical depression Lee move through the area it is possible that rainfall could cause flash flooding. More than three inches of rain could fall by Wednesday evening causing water in creeks in streams to possibly rise and cause flooding in the area. The weather service urges residents to be cautious at night when it is harder to recognize the dangers of flooding. Also, move to higher ground to escape flood waters and do not stay in areas subject to flooding when waters start to rise.
