‘Glory Days’ to Come to Eldersburg

A new restaurant joins the mix on Liberty Road.

A brick building has popped up in front of the new Goodwill on Liberty Road and the blue signs aren’t keeping what’s moving in a secret.

Glory Days Grill, a family dining chain restaurant with locations in Frederick, Towson, Bowie and Pasadena, is coming to Eldersburg next month, opening their 22nd location at 1348 Liberty Road.

From speakers at every table to “play portt” gaming systems and numerous flat screen TV’s, co-founder Jeff Newman says there’s something for everyone.

“We have these interactive games all tied into a massive computer that lets you play 100 games and listen to songs. It’s a lot of fun when Mom and Dad want to go out and relax at family dinner,” said Newman.

According to Newman, a study conducted by Glory Days Grill discovered that Eldersburg was “underserved by restaurants” when looking at the number of seats at local restaurants compared to area population.

In addition, community involvement and the many recreational sports leagues in the area was a draw for the restaurant chain.

“We are big on community involvement and the many recreational leagues and high school teams are a big draw for us. We offer ‘dining for dollars’ and gift cards at a discount for teams,” said Newman.

The Eldersburg location is looking to hire around 150 employees, conducting interviews from the new Goodwill location.

Glory Days and their mixed menu of American classics and grill specialties is working to appeal to more than your average sports grill enthusiasts.

“Although we appeal to everyone, if you come in there you’re going to find about 70 percent of the people are families dining together,” said Newman. “But in addition we work to cater to women and children in particular because there are a whole lot of places for guys out there.”

The restaurant is slated to open sometime between June 13 and 20 and will be open from 11:30 a.m. to midnight everyday and closed on Christmas and Thanksgiving.
