Library System Awarded Grant to Install Tech Bars

Library users will now be able to use iPad, Kindle, NookColor, and Sony Readers.

Carroll County Public Library users will now have access to the latest iPad, Kindle, NookColor, and Sony Reader through an Innovation Grant from the Division of Library Development and Services, Maryland State Department of Education.

The grant provides for a Tech Bar and four in-library circulating iPads at each of Carroll County Public Library System's six branches.

The purpose of the Tech Bars is to offer a variety of new electronic devices for library users to better understand and utilize eReader devices and the library’s online eBook collection. Library staff members are also trained to discuss the capabilities of various eReaders and answer questions about their operation.
