Mitten Tree, Festival of Wreaths and More: Five Things Nov. 30

Read these five things to stay on top of local news and get you prepared for the day.

1. The Festival of Wreaths

The Carroll Arts Council is hosting the starting today and featuring more than 220 decorated themed wreaths on display for the public to view during the five-day silent auction. The public is invited to vote for their favorites through Dec. 3 and awards will be announced Dec. 4. Festival hours will be 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. Nov. 30 through Dec. 3 and noon to 4 p.m. on Dec. 4. Bidding for the silent auction ends at 4 p.m. on Dec. 4.

Donate unwrapped gifts to Toys For Tots this holiday season. Drop off a toy off at Eldersburg Self Storage at 501 Liberty Road Monday through Friday 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. and Saturday 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Find more information .

3. Public Library Mitten Tree

This holiday season marks the 28th year the Carroll County Public Library has provided holiday help to our neighbors in need. CCPL receives donated gloves, mittens, scarves, and hats, for both adults and children, through their mitten trees set up at all six branches. Donations will be accepted until Friday, Jan. 6.
Each branch has a Corky Mitten Tree and patrons can hang store-bought or homemade donations on the tree. Items collected will be donated to local charitable organizations.

4. The County Has It's Tree Now
