(Updated) Severe Thunderstorm Watch in Carroll County

The National Weather Service has the following weather statement.

A severe thunderstorm watch is in effect in Carroll County until 9 p.m. of possible weather-related outages.

A severe thunderstorm warning is in effect until 4 p.m. for Carroll and Frederick counties, according to the National Weather Service.

At 3:24 p.m. Wednesday, “severe thunderstorms were detected along a line extending from Westminster to 9 miles southeast of Westminster to Harry Grove Stadium and were moving southeast at 35 miles per hour ” a National Weather Service statement said.

The storms could produce quarter-sized hail and winds up to 60 miles per hour, according to the warning.

“This is a dangerous line of storms,” weather officials said in a statement.

The statement said you should go indoors to a sturdy building and stay away from windows.
