Snow Emergency Plan in Effect for Carroll County

The plan went into effect at noon on Saturday.

The Maryland State Police have declared a "snow emergency" in Carroll County in effect as of noon Satuday.

This means that all Carroll County Public School activities are canceled for the day, including homecoming dance.

Snow has been falling since this morning with a Winter Storm Warning in effect for the county until 6 p.m. tonight.

The forecast calls for 1 to 3 inches of snow during the day, with a high near 39 degrees, according to The National Weather Service.

This is only the fifth October snow since they started keeping records and if more than an inch of snow falls in Carroll County, it will be the secondest snowiest October on record.
