Sun, Rain, Sun, Rain ... Eldersburg Weekend Weather

Here’s a surprise: It looks like, although Friday started off clear and sunny, we may see thunderstorms between 5 and 7 p.m., according to the National Weather Service

Bet you weren’t expecting that.

In fact, the weekend precipitation forecast looks something like a sine wave: the potential for rain peaks in the evenings and drops off in the early mornings.

Friday, we can expect temperatures to peak in the mid-80s this afternoon. How hot things actually get plays a role in how likely thunderstorms are, according to the weather forecast, which calls daytime heating “the biggest nemesis” in the past few days as far as forecasting these storms.

A 60 percent chance of rain continues over night, when temperatures drop to the mid-60s.

Expect more thunderstorms Saturday evening. Otherwise, skies should be sunny and temperatures will reach the mid-80s during the day, dropping to the high-60s at night. There’s a 60 percent chance of rain at night.

Sunday looks the same, with a 40 percent chance of showers during the day, but temperatures a bit milder, 80 degrees. Sunday night there is, again, a 60 percent chance of rain and temperatures dropping to about 70 degrees.
