The Town of Sykesville Gets 'Merry' Today

The Town of Sykesville is hosting "Merry Main Street" today from 2 p.m. to 9 p.m. featuring holiday themed events for the family.

Main Street shops are offering deals throughout the day, encouraging shoppers to pick up their Christmas gits during the special Town of Sykesville event.

Local businesses will be competing for the "best window display" contest, with ballets available in each of the shops for the "viewers choice award."

The event features live music by String Echoes, kids activities, ice sculpting, carolers, refreshments, model trains, an opprtunity to meet the Grinch, free gift wrapping for items bought in Main Street shops and a special evening event with Santa's arrival at 6 p.m. on Main Street Sykesville to light the Christmas Tree.
