Tristar Martial Artists Honored at U.S. International Summit

The recipients were honored at a special service in Nashville, Tenn.

Several local martial artists were given prestigious awards for their contribution to the martial arts industry. Thirteen instructors from Tristar Martial Arts in Eldersburg, Mount Airy and Westminster, traveled to Nashville, Tenn. to represent their school and Carroll County at the U.S. Martial Arts Association’s International Summit.

  • Joe Offutt was awarded Inspirational Instructor of the Year. This award was presented for his teaching ability as well as his ability to connect with Tristar’s students.
  • Julie Hebert was awarded the Administrative Excellence award for her attention to detail with her administrative duties at Tristar Martial Arts.
  • Debbie Thompson, owner of Tristar Martial Arts, was awarded the Exemplary Mentoring Award for her contribution to raising the standards of the martial arts industry. She mentors many schools all over the U.S., England and Australia helping other martial artists learn to manage their schools successfully. This award was presented as recognition for all her hard work and her giving spirit.

Debbie was also a featured speaker at this year’s convention sharing the success of her schools and what other martial artists could do to improve their success and professionalism. The attendees represented thousands of martial arts schools worldwide including the U.S., Canada, England, Germany, Australia, New Zealand, Ireland, and Puerto Rico.
