The incident took place Thursday morning on Macbeth Way in Eldersburg.

At approximately 9:30 a.m. Thursday, sheriff's deputies responded to a report from an "alert" resident who observed one of the suspects, later identified as Triplett, walking the perimeter of a neighbor's house before moving to a second home and entering through an unlocked front door, according to the release.

The suspect exited the house a few minutes later and fled the neighborhood in a gray car driven by a man later identified as Hendricks, deputies said.

The vehicle description was broadcast throughout the region and a Baltimore County police officer stopped a similar car for a minor traffic violation along Liberty Road in Randallstown, facilitating the arrests.

Police recovered approximately $1,000 in jewelry that had been taken from the Eldersburg home, along with a small quantity of heroin and syringes, officials said.

Hendricks and Triplett were taken into custody and returned to Carroll County Central Booking Thursday by sheriff’s detectives.

Triplett was released on a $3,000 unsecured bond, and Hendricks, who was found to have two outstanding arrest warrants for unrelated charges, was held at the Carroll County Detention Center on $5,000 bail.
