I would rather you concentrate on news about Havre de Grace than stories, however entreating, than these.
Ellen Eltgroth October 21, 2012 at 12:15 PM
Entertaining, not entreating.
Brook Hubbard October 21, 2012 at 12:23 PM
That was rather arrogant and egocentric...
Bart October 21, 2012 at 12:51 PM
Havre de Grace is weird then, I suppose. Nice job, Ellen.
Jane Bellmyer October 21, 2012 at 04:16 PM
Some people complain that all newspapers do is print bad news. These same people complain when you print good news. Welcome to Havre de Grace Elizabeth
Sue Asher October 21, 2012 at 04:36 PM
As Jane ssid, some people just can't be oleased. Keep up the good work Patch.
Ellen Eltgroth October 21, 2012 at 04:58 PM
I like getting the Havre de Grace Patch, not the Eldersburg Patch...and I appreciate news about Havre de Grace on the Havre de Grace Patch. I don't think that's being egocentric. I didn't insist on news about myself. If I want news about other places I have many other sources that give me a broad view of what's happening. The Havre de Grace Patch should concentrate on news pertinent to the city of Havre de Grace.
Ellen Eltgroth October 21, 2012 at 05:07 PM
I just realized that the email version that I received today IS the Eldersburg Patch, and not the Havre de Grace Patch. I don't know why I received it. I have signed up to receive only the HdG Patch.??? Can anyone explain why this happened?
Ellen Eltgroth October 21, 2012 at 05:14 PM
Very confusing. When I go back to look at my email inbox, there is the HdG Patch, but when I make comments, they go to the Eldersburg Patch???

This comment thread is on my towson patch...

Read the words under the headline.... "Patch brings you weird news headlines from ALL AROUND MARYLAND" jeez, you'd think with all of the awful news nowadays that people could appreciate something different.
Bruce Goldfarb October 21, 2012 at 11:18 PM
This feature, as some are, is "cross-posted" to Patches throughout the region.
Joe October 22, 2012 at 12:12 AM
Ellen, um, every single story headline AND short blurb mentions the place involved in the story. Every one.
Ellen Eltgroth October 22, 2012 at 01:12 AM
Joe, um, the news I have subscribed to is called the Havre de Grace Patch. I can read. Can you? I just want news about Havre de Grace from my Havre de Grace Patch. I can get news about other places some other way. Whether it's good or bad news, that's okay. I use the mobile feature of the Patch primarily and it only contains maybe three or four headlines. I don't want to see one of those few stories taken up by news from somewhere else. Thank you for responding, Bruce. Tell me, is the Patch going to be "cross-posting" on the weekends regularly?
Bruce Goldfarb October 22, 2012 at 01:16 AM
We periodically cross-post articles that we think are of interest to readers—breaking news, big news stories, subjects that are of wider interest.
Bart October 22, 2012 at 01:47 AM
Nice try, Bruce, but you'll never be able to explain successfully to Ellen. I saw all this on Towson Patch. I get it! She doesn't.
Ryan October 22, 2012 at 08:56 AM
Hey Ellen, since you speak about being so great at reading, when the headline says “Patch brings you weird news headlines from AROUND Maryland” that means you should not click on it if you only want your local news. I know it is hard, but stop complaining for one second. I think you should direct all your anger to your husband and kids like usual, but they have probably learned to tune you out by now.
Bud Pilcher October 22, 2012 at 02:25 PM
I just wanted to see a pic of the ax-wielding roomate from Dundalk. I don't know what everyone else is fussing about.
Marge Neal (Editor) October 22, 2012 at 02:34 PM
Bud, If you click on the link to the story, the photo of the alleged ax-wielder is there. — Marge
Amy Kenney-stout October 22, 2012 at 05:41 PM
I found the articles entertaining, thank you!
Mary Z October 22, 2012 at 07:24 PM
I appreciate more than just the bad news. Thanks for mixing it up. If you don't want to read 'weird news' select delete. Sometimes it's just not all about you.
