Winfield Fire Department Holds Annual Carnival
The fireworks display takes off Friday.
The Winfield Community Volunteer Fire Department's 46th annual carnival kicked off this week with bands, fun and fundraising.
A big item left this week is the traditional fireworks display on Friday night at 10:30 p.m. Raffle drawings will be on Saturday night.
Another big draw at Winfield is the buffet dinners which are served in the air conditioned hall from 4:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m.

On the menu Friday is Maryland crab soup, fried shrimp, fish filet, crab cakes (limit two for adults, one for children and none for under three), green beans, applesauce, potato salad, buttered corn, cucumbers and onions, rolls and butter, iced tea, coffee and lemonade. The cost on Friday is $14 for adults, $8 for children 3 to 11 and children under three are free.
Fried chicken tops the menu Saturday along with baked pork chops, mashed potatoes and gravy, green beans, baked beans, pepper slaw, applesauce, rolls and butter, iced tea, coffee and lemonade. Adults will pay $10, children 3 to 11 years old are $5 and children under three are free.
