Carroll Hospital Center to host annual Total Health Expo, Saturday, October 26

Westminster, Md. – (September 23, 2013) — Enjoy a fun-filled morning of health and wellness education for the entire family at Carroll Hospital Center’s annual Total Health Expo on Saturday, October 26 from 8 a.m. to noon in the hospital’s main lobby.

Designed to promote health, safety and well-being for all, the free event includes a range of activities for people of all ages. Children can enjoy face painting, finger casting, interactive learning displays and more, while adults can take part in health education sessions and enjoy complementary health treatments such as mini massages and acupuncture treatments. A host of free and low-cost health screenings are also available including blood pressure, foot health, hearing, knee and hip, oral health and skin cancer. Pre-registration is required for some screenings.

In addition, the Carroll County Health Department will be on site to collect old and unsafe car seats and a medication collection area will be provided to allow residents to drop off expired and unused prescriptions, and over-the counter medications for proper disposal. (Syringes are not accepted and liquid medications must be in a plastic zipper storage bag.) Attendees also can enter a raffle drawing to win a great prize.
